Missing Cruise Ship Passenger - HAL Eurodam - November 29, 2012
Jason Gregory Rappe, 42, from Olympia, Washington was cruising aboard Holland America Line's cruise ship Eurodam on Thursday November 29, 2012 when he was reported missing.
The Eurodam was sailing from St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands to the Bahamas when cruise ship passenger Jason Gregroy Rappe was reported missing from Eurodam.
The United States Coast Guard (USCG) was notified by Eurodam's personnel that Jason Rappe's wife Tina reported him missing. Mr. Rappe's hat was fund on deck, where it's assumed he went overboard.
A search of the seas for Jason Rappe was launched. The USCG searched by sea and by air for Rappe on Thursday and continued Friday.
Eurodam was sailing a seven-day Eastern Caribbean Cruise, having embarked from Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Saturday, November 24, 2012.
Eurodam was cruising with calls at Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos on Monday, San Juan, Puerto Rico on Tuesday and St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands on Wednesday.
While Eurodam was sailing towards Half Moon Cay, Bahamas where it was suppose to call on Friday morning, Jason Rappe went overboard.
